I have been practicing law since 1989.  I am licensed to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and authorized to appear in federal court (United States District Court, Bankruptcy Court and Third Circuit Court of Appeals). I am a member of the New Jersey and Sussex County Bar Associations.  

I graduated from the College of the Holy Cross (Massachusetts) in 1979 and Seton Hall University School of Law (New Jersey) in 1989.  Between college and law school, I was a planner for a federally funded employment program, was a reporter for the Newark Star-Ledger and New Jersey Herald and received awards for feature and sports writing from the New Jersey Press Association.  

Since 1989, I worked with the general-practice law firm of McGovern & Roseman, PA, which, until 2020, was located on Spring Street in Newton, New Jersey.  The firm was founded in 1960, and I had the good fortune over many years to practice with skilled family members the late William J. McGovern, Esq. and Harold T. McGovern, Esq., close friend and mentor the late Stephen Roseman, Esq., and talented brothers who are not named here to protect their privacy. I continue to practice at our new address of 31 Newton Sparta Road, Suite 7, Newton, NJ with excellent and dedicated staff.  

I represent several municipalities, many businesses and charitable organizations.  I have extensive experience with residential and commercial real estate transactions and litigation, land use applications, business transactions, estate planning and administration, guardianships, landlord-tenant actions, municipal court matters, matrimonial and family issues, etc.  

I am a member of the boards of trustees for SCARC Guardianship Services, Inc. and for Sussex County Community College’s LACE program, which assist developmentally disabled women and men.
